This role also serves as a Laboratory Information System (LIS) operator and assists with clerical duties as needed. The position supports the overall safety, organization, and cleanliness of the laboratory.This temporary role is ideal for individuals interested in pursuing a career in healthcare. In addition to core phlebotomy responsibilities, there will be opportunities to shadow laboratory technicians, providing exposure to clinical laboratory workflows, instrumentation, and testing processes.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform routine venipuncture and specimen collectionProcess and prepare laboratory specimensOperate and maintain Laboratory Information System (LIS) functionsAssist with clerical and administrative tasksMaintain a clean, safe, and organized work environmentLearning & Shadowing OpportunitiesObserve laboratory technicians performing moderate- and high-complexity testingGain exposure to clinical chemistry, hematology, and microbiology workflowsLearn specimen handling, processing, and quality practices within a clinical lab settingDevelop an understanding of laboratory instrumentation and daily maintenance processesOpportunity to ask questions and engage with experienced laboratory professionals to better understand career pathways in laboratory medicineQualificationsEducation/Training:Graduate of an accredited phlebotomy, medical assistant, or related medical program ORHigh school diploma (or equivalent) with documented phlebotomy training and experiencePreferredHigh school graduate or college student currently enrolled in a healthcare-related degree programSkillsStrong communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to work directly with patients and families in a professional mannerBasic computer and typing skills preferredExperiencePrevious phlebotomy experience preferred, but not requiredEqual Opportunity EmployerCCM Health is an equal opportunity employer.
