Job Description Teaching AssistantThe Teaching Assistant will support the professor(s) in various administrative and operational tasks.ResponsibilitiesAttending and completing instructional staff training prior to the arrival of studentsTake attendance of class and sessionsAssisting in maintaining classroom orderWorking with individual or groups of studentsLeading break activitiesProviding administrative assistanceHandling routine disciplinary problemsChaperoning and assisting with logistics on field experiencesTeaching the course on occasion or holding sessions, as requested by the instructorMaintaining and submitting a master list of materials for your course and a list of any equipment broken or damaged by students or staffAddressing student behavior issues while in their presenceAssisting in ensuring the health and safety of all students by following site medical protocolsAssisting program staff with program tasks and evaluationPacking, storing, disposing of, and completing an inventory of course materials at the end of programmingActing as a resource and academic support for studentsGrading submitted work from studentsQualificationsActive enrollment as a student at Tulane UniversityPrior or active enrollment in a particular class or course of study (potentially)A required grade in a prior class or coursework (potentially)About UsThis position will help student employees demonstrate and cultivate the career readiness competencies in accordance with the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE).About UsTulane University is an equal opportunity educator and employer committed to providing an education and employment environment free of unlawful discrimination, harassment, and retaliation.
