IT Event Coordinator / Lead Technician (Network Infrastructure) New York City, NY (Field-Based)About the RoleWe’re hiring a hands-on IT Event Coordinator / Lead Technician to support large-scale race events across New York City, including marquee events like the NYC Marathon and Brooklyn Half.This is a field-heavy, high-impact role where you’ll own the full IT lifecycle—from planning and site surveys to live event execution and post-event teardown. You’ll act as a key partner to leadership, ensuring reliable connectivity for thousands of participants in fast-paced, outdoor environments.What You’ll DoConnectivity & InfrastructureDeploy and support internet connectivity in outdoor and complex environmentsRun and manage fiber and structured cabling (Cat5e/Cat6)Configure and troubleshoot routers, Wi-Fi, and cellular networksWork with technologies like Cradlepoint, Starlink, and point-to-point solutionsEnsure network redundancy (primary + backup circuits)Carrier & Vendor CoordinationCoordinate with telecom providers like Verizon, T-Mobile, and AT&TSupport priority/First Responder connectivity solutionsManage vendors, logistics, and equipment inventoryPartner with internal teams to gather technical requirementsEvent ExecutionConduct site surveys and plan infrastructure setup (60–70% field work)Lead installation, testing, and live event supportTroubleshoot connectivity issues in real-time (DNS, network drops, etc.)Support and guide on-site staff during eventsLead teardown and document post-event learnings (“Playbook”)IT SupportProvide Tier 1 / Tier 2 desktop support (Windows, Mac, O365)Support laptops, printers, AV, and network hardware
