The EP (Electrophysiology) RN specializes in working with patients undergoing diagnostic and interventional cardiac electrophysiology procedures such as EP studies, ablations, pacemaker/ICD implantations, and more in a specialized EP lab. The EP (Electrophysiology) RN role involves preprocedure assessment, direct patient care during procedures, monitoring of hemodynamic and cardiac rhythms, administration of medications including sedation, and documentation compliance.
