Lead Facilities Operations Engineer
Talascend is currently seeking a Lead Facilities Operations Engineer for a contract opportunity with our client in Atlanta, Georgia.OverviewAs a Lead Facilities Operations Engineer at the client, you'll oversee the safe, reliable, and efficient performance of critical building systems across your assigned territory. This role involves technical expertise and strategic oversight to maintain and optimize mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and building automation systems within commercial and broadcasting properties.ResponsibilitiesManage daily operation of mechanical (HVAC, plumbing, controls), electrical (lighting, UPS, generators, switchgear), fire/life safety, temperature control, and digital systems (fire alarm, access control, duress)Perform daily site inspections and provide technical assistance for advanced building operations and troubleshootingSchedule and oversee preventive maintenance and repairs across mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systemsCollaborate with facility management teams to maintain chillers, building automation systems, door and gate systems, and building envelope componentsSupervise preventive maintenance programs with minimal disruption to building services and tenant operationsOrder parts and equipment for repairs, maintenance, and new installations while maintaining accurate inventory recordsProvide on-call support to address critical client needs and emergency situationsLead vendor coordination and delegate maintenance tasks to appropriate service providersQualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent6+ years of experience with commercial building operating systems and general building maintenance procedures2+ years of maintenance lead or management experienceStrong mechanical, electrical and HVAC aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot building systems and proficiently operate hand and power tools, lifts, scaffolding, and laddersAbility to read digital meters, voltage testers, blueprints, and schematicsProficient knowledge of Microsoft Office/SuiteKnowledge of building CMMS systems (ie, Corrigo, Máximo, etc)Preferred QualificationsTradesman license (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, etc)Experience working with building management system(s) and / or building automation technologiesWe thank all applicants for their interest.
