REDTAIL provides secure, compliant screening solutions for employers, critical infrastructure, fitness-for-access programs for major sporting and special events, and other organizations that require reliable background investigations and credentialing services.As a privately held, certified woman-owned small business, Datamaxx is committed to delivering secure, reliable, and innovative technology that advances interoperability, strengthens security, and helps organizations make informed decisions with confidence.Role Description We're looking for a strong Software Engineer to join a tight-knit development team. You'll design, build, and take ownership of features across the full stack, with your initial focus being the advancement of a high-volume, multithreaded message broker - a component that sits at the core of our solutions.  This is a remote position where you'll work closely with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment, delivering software that's built to perform and scale.ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and maintain production applications using ASP.NET, C#, MVC, and Entity FrameworkBuild responsive front-end features using HTML, CSS, jQuery, and related web technologies.Develop and maintain high volume / high transaction Message BrokerDesign and optimize relational database schemas and queries in MS SQL ServerArchitect, build, and consume RESTful APIs including third-party integrationsCollaborate with product and design teams to define and deliver new featuresWrite clean, well-documented, and testable code with an eye for performanceParticipate in code reviews and contribute constructive technical feedbackIdentify and resolve application bottlenecks and bugsContribute to architecture decisions in a multi-tenant cloud environmentStay current with emerging technologies and development best practicesRequired QulaificationsBachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent professional experience)5+ years of professional software development experienceStrong .NET / C# experience with web application developmentExperience with multithreaded applications / message queueingProficiency with ASP.NET MVC and Entity FrameworkExperience with front-end technologies: HTML, CSS, jQuery, and UI developmentHands-on experience with MS SQL Server database design and optimizationStrong understanding of RESTful API design and consumptionExperience working in Agile / Scrum development environmentsFamiliarity with multi-tenant or cloud platform architectureProficiency with AI-assisted development tools such as Claude, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or similarNice-to-have-SkillsCloud platform experience: AWS or AzureMobile development exposureAPI integration experience with third-party platformsMulti-tenant SaaS architecture exposureExperience integrating LLM APIs (e.g. OpenAI, Claude, or similar) into production applicationsFamiliarity with AI/ML concepts and embedding AI features into software productsExperience with Azure DevOps for CI/CD pipelines, work item tracking, and source controlFamiliarity with Docker for containerization and local development environments
