Generate Sustained Profitability Position SummaryThe Manufacturing Safety Intern supports the Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) team in promoting a safe and compliant workplace within a manufacturing environment. This role provides hands-on experience with safety programs, audits, training, and incident prevention initiatives while gaining exposure to real-world manufacturing operations.Key ResponsibilitiesAssist with workplace safety inspections and hazard identificationSupport incident, near-miss, and injury investigationsHelp maintain safety documentation, records, and reportsParticipate in job safety analyses (JSAs) and risk assessmentsAssist with safety training materials and employee training sessionsSupport compliance with OSHA and company safety standardsTrack and analyze safety metrics (e.g., incident rates, audit findings)Participate in safety committee meetings and improvement projectsAssist with PPE programs and safety signage updatesRequirementsQualificationsCurrently pursuing a degree in Occupational Safety, Industrial Engineering, Environmental Health & Safety, Manufacturing, or a related fieldStrong interest in workplace safety and manufacturing operationsBasic knowledge of OSHA or safety principles (coursework acceptable)Strong attention to detail and organizational skillsAbility to work in a fast-paced, hands-on manufacturing environmentProficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)Preferred QualificationsPrior internship or coursework related to safety or manufacturingFamiliarity with safety management systems or auditsStrong communication and teamwork skillsPhysical RequirementsAbility to walk manufacturing floors and wear required PPEAbility to lift up to [e.g., 25 lbs] if necessaryLearning OutcomesPractical experience with manufacturing safety systemsExposure to regulatory compliance and risk managementDevelopment of professional communication and reporting skillsWe are looking for people who are highly motivated with the ability to work in a fast paced environment.
