During the first semester of the 2026-27 school year, the successful candidate will work directly alongside the current Superintendent to master district operations, build deep roots with our staff and community, and become familiar with our Central Office team.Upon the Superintendent's retirement in January 2027, this individual will officially transition into the role of District Superintendent.Primary Responsibilities:Staff Engagement: Spend significant time in buildings and departments to understand LCS staff culture and needs.Operational Shadowing: Work closely with the Superintendent and Board of Education on district-wide strategic initiatives, budgeting, and board relations.HR Leadership: Oversee recruitment, retention, and labor relations, ensuring the district continues to attract and support top-tier talent.Strategic Vision: Lead the district in its mission to provide excellence in education for all students.Community Partnership: Serve as the district's primary face, fostering strong relationships with parents, local businesses, and community stakeholders.Organizational Excellence: Maintain the long-term fiscal health and academic success that has defined LCS for decades.Qualifications & RequirementsLicensure: Valid Ohio Superintendent License (or immediate eligibility).Experience: Proven track record of successful administrative leadership (District-level or Building-level).Character: High emotional intelligence, exceptional communication skills, and a "servant-leader" mindset.Commitment: A desire to honor the history of LCS while driving the district toward a modern, innovative future.
