SUPPORT SPECIALIST - PTPosition Purpose: Responsible for assisting staff by performing various administrative tasks to aid the department in fulfilling legal requests, closing uncollectable accounts, filing insurance/collections claims, and requesting cancellation refunds related to credit union products. Must work as a team player with a positive attitude, ability to multi-task and be comfortable in a constant changing environment.Duties and Responsibilities:Conducts account closures for negative shares according to credit union procedure and reports information to ChexSystems.Timely file all claims deriving from a repossessed vehicle or uncollectable loan with the appropriate partner.Responds to legal requests such as tax levies, subpoenas, warrants, and garnishments.Responsible for adhering to and maintaining Record Retention guidelines in accordance with Federal Regulations.Accurately update change of address request as received.Answer calls from staff, law enforcement related to claim submission and legal requested items.Prepares document packages for legal and subpoena requests.Assists other personnel and staff as needed.Keeps supervisor informed of area activities and of any significant problems or concerns.Maintains written procedures for the position.Effective communication skills.Attend meetings and training as required.Ensure work is clean, secure, and well always maintained.Keeps up to date on all policy changes and revisions.Ensures Bank Secrecy Act, Consumer Identification Policy, and OFAC policies are followed.Maintains and projects Essential CU’s professional reputation and privacy of account information. Must be capable of climbing/descending stairs in emergency situations. Must be able to operate routine office equipment including telephone, copier, facsimile and calculator. Must be able to work extended hours whenever required or requested by management. Must by capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance.Other RequirementsMust be able to perform job functions with supervision and work effectively either on own or as part of a team.
