Mobile Dog Groomer

In addition to mobile grooming, this position also offers the potential for in-shop grooming shifts at our Barkers & Bows Boutique in Palmetto Bay, giving you the flexibility to work on the go and in a luxury salon environment. Duties & Responsibilities Perform comprehensive grooming services including bathing, trimming, styling, and nail clipping for dogs of various breeds and sizes. Safely handle pets throughout all grooming procedures with a focus on comfort and well-being. Maintain a clean and sanitized grooming environment, including tools, equipment, and the mobile grooming unit and/or in-shop workspace. Provide excellent customer service, communicating with pet owners regarding grooming needs, coat conditions, and recommended services. Manage and schedule appointments efficiently while maintaining professionalism and punctuality. Assist with additional pet care needs such as ear cleaning, teeth brushing, de-shedding, and coat maintenance as required. Handle heavy lifting of pets or grooming equipment when necessary, following proper lifting techniques to prevent injury. Keep accurate records of grooming services, health observations, and any special instructions from pet owners. Requirements & Qualifications Proven experience in pet grooming, dog handling, or animal care; veterinary assistant/technician experience is a plus. Strong animal handling skills with knowledge of safe grooming, restraint techniques, and pet care best practices. Preferred knowledge of dog behavior, coat types, breed-specific grooming, and skin/coat health. Ability to perform heavy lifting when required (e.g., pets or equipment). Excellent customer service and communication skills when interacting with pet owners. Valid driver’s license and clean driving record (for mobile grooming). Prior experience in kennel care, pet sitting, or animal boarding is beneficial but not required. Adaptable, reliable, and compassionate attitude with a commitment to animal welfare and high-quality grooming services. Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred to better serve our diverse client community.
