Job TypeFull-timeDescriptionThe Business Unit Controller is responsible for leading all accounting and financial reporting activities for a designated business unit within Kelvin Group. This role ensures the integrity of financial information, compliance with corporate policies and GAAP, and supports operational leadership with timely, accurate financial insights. The Controller serves as a key liaison between the business unit and corporate finance, driving consistency, control, and transparency across financial processes. This position report directly to the Corporate Controller.This is a remote position, based anywhere in the U.S.Key ResponsibilitiesMonthly close process, including developing and enforcing standard procedures and reporting deadlinesMonthly account reconciliations and analysisMaintain standard reporting for executive and operations managementDevelop and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and controlsEnsure timeliness and accuracy of daily transaction processing (AR, AP, WIP, cash receipts, etc.)Ensure compliance with US GAAP, including guidance on implementing new standardsIdentify and improve areas of inefficiencyManage day-to-day cash needs and provide executives with timely cash flow reportingTimely tax filings in various jurisdictions (e.g., income tax, sales tax)Oversee payroll accounting and job costingIdentify key performance indicators and implement reporting proceduresPrepare budgets, forecasts, and projections, including variance analysesAssist executives and management in setting business and financial goals, and develop reporting to track progressProvide financial analysis and input on key business decisions (e.g., capital investment, customer pricing, contract negotiations)RequirementsBachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business administration requiredCPA license preferredExperience working with PE backed companies preferred3-5 years’ experience at public accounting firm preferred10-15 years of relevant experience with a minimum of 5 years in a supervisory roleHands-on management and work style – successful individual will be both a leader and a doerExperience with construction accounting strongly preferredExperience with service businesses helpfulExperience in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environmentAdvanced knowledge of financial tools, including Microsoft Office is requiredAttention to detail and ability to prioritize effectively in a dynamic work environmentAbility to work collaboratively as part of a teamSelf-starter and can work independently.Thrive on facing challenges and constantly making improvementsBenefitsEligible for healthcare benefits on Day 1 of employment:Medical, dental, vision, and prescription drug coverageFlexible Spending Account (FSA), Dependent Care Spending Account (DCSA)Health Savings Account (HSA)Company-paid Life Insurance; Supplemental Employee, Spouse, and Dependent LifeAccident Hospital IndemnityCompany-paid Short and Long-term Disability InsurancePet InsuranceEmployer matched 401(k) saving plan (with Roth option)Weekly paycheckGenerous paid holiday schedule (11 days per year)Paid time off (vacation + sick time)Learning & Development programsEmployee Referral Bonus ProgramTuition ReimbursementEOE – Disability/Veterans Salary Description$100,000-120,000.00
