Fire Alarm Technician

Help us continue delivering excellence to our customers.Responsibilities:Install, service, and inspect fire alarm systemsUse blueprints or building plans to install system based on building layoutMaintain and update schematics, drawings, and documentation and notify necessary parties of any changesRun conduit, pull wire and install circuits for low voltage electrical systems.Repair electronic components using test equipment and replacement partsEnsure systems comply with electrical and fire codesExplain and demonstrate system function and operation to end usersExhibit excellent customer service skills by effectively communicating staff and customersComplete administrative duties including completing daily service acknowledgements, safety documentation, and other related tasksRequired Skills/Abilities: Extensive knowledge low voltage systems and fire alarm systems and installationProven ability to use codes and standards to install fire alarm systemsExcellent analytical and problem-solving skills.Ability to read installation manuals, system guides, blueprints and building plansProficient with hand and power tools to install systemsExperience in fire alarm or high voltage installation requiredEducation and Experience: Minimum 2 years of electrical trade experience required2+ years of fire alarm experienced preferredNICET Level 1 in Fire Alarm Systems preferredPhysical Requirements: Prolonged periods standing, kneeling, bending, and climbing laddersRegularly ascend/descend ladders up to 16 feetPhysically able to install system hardware and wiringMust be able to lift 50 pounds at a time to a height of 3-4 feetPerform general job duties at an elevated height via aerial liftPay RangeHourly rate depends on experience and abilitiesBenefitsPTO, Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Long-term disability, 401k with match, EPSPEEO statement/Affirmative Action:Viking Fire Protection Group is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of religion, disability, protected veteran status, age, sex, race, color, national origin, or any other characteristic protected by law.Viking Fire Protection Group complies with federal and state disability laws and will make reasonable accommodations for applicants and qualified employees with disabilities.
