The firm is led by partners Joel Schechter, Kristin Arcuri, and Pauline Will, with support from associate attorneys . The practice focuses on transportation and insurance defense. Team members work closely together to provide comprehensive legal services across these practice areas, serving a diverse client base across New York State.Role Description The Associate will be a full-time, on-site team member based in Buffalo, NY. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting legal research, drafting pleadings, motions, and other legal documents, and assisting with case strategy across the firm’s core practice areas. The role involves managing case files, communicating with clients, opposing counsel, and courts, and participating in negotiations, hearings, and, where appropriate, trials. The Associate will collaborate with partners and other attorneys to prepare for proceedings, ensure timely filings, and support high-quality legal representation. The position also includes maintaining accurate records, staying current on relevant laws and regulations, and contributing to a professional, collegial work environment.Qualifications Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and admission, or eligibility for admission, to the New York State Bar.Strong legal research and writing skills, including the ability to analyze case law, statutes, and regulations and prepare clear, persuasive legal documents.Interest or experience in one or more of the firm’s practice areas.Effective communication and client service skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients, colleagues, courts, and opposing counsel.Excellent organizational and time-management abilities, including managing multiple matters, meeting deadlines, and maintaining detailed case files.Demonstrated commitment to ethical practice, sound judgment, and attention to detail in all aspects of legal work.Ability to work collaboratively in an on-site team environment and proactively contribute to case strategy and firm initiatives.Prior law firm experience, clerkship, or relevant internships are beneficial but not required.
