MIG Welder- Structural Steel
Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled MIG Welder specializing in Structural Steel to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have experience in welding and fabrication, with a strong understanding of detail drawings, weld symbols per AWS D1.1, and safety standards such as ASME codes. This role involves utilizing a variety of welding techniques and hand tools to produce high-quality steel structures. The position offers the opportunity to work with advanced equipment and contribute to large-scale projects in a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities
Perform MIG welding on structural steel components following detailed blueprints and schematics
Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and welding symbols accurately
Use hand tools, power tools, plasma cutters, and other fabrication equipment to shape and assemble steel parts
Operate, forklifts, and rigging equipment safely to move materials and components within the work area
Maintain compliance with ASME standards and safety regulations during all welding and fabrication activities
Assist in the setup of welding stations, including preparing surfaces and positioning materials for welding operations
Conduct quality checks on welds using basic math skills and inspection tools to ensure structural integrity
Collaborate with team members in the shop environment to meet project deadlines
Experience
Proven experience in MIG welding, particularly with structural steel applications
Knowledge of plasma cutting, acetylene torch cutting, and assembly techniques highly desirable
Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately
Experience working with hand tools, power tools, and rigging gear
Familiarity with AWS & ASME codes & standards for welding practices is advantageous
Basic math skills for measurements and calculations required for precise fabrication tasks

Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40.0 per week
