This role is essential in fostering a community center environment that is inclusive, welcoming, and responsive to the needs of children, youth, and families. The Coordinator ensures a continuum of services and youth development opportunities by overseeing program delivery, supervising staff and interns, and contributing to the overall development and growth of the program.Organizational Role: Supervisor: Program Director School-Year: Monday-Friday 6:00 pm-10:00 pm, Saturday 10:00 am-3:00 pmSummer: Monday-Friday, 6:00 PM-11:00 p.m., Saturday & Sunday 5:00 PM-11:00 p.mCompensation: $ 18.50 -20.00Work Schedule:School-Year: Monday-Friday 6:00 pm-10:00 pm, Saturday 10:00 am-3:00 pmSummer: Monday-Friday, 6:00 PM-11:00 p.m., Saturday & Sunday 5:00 PM-11:00 p.mKey ResponsibilitiesAdministrative SupportAssist with the coordination and day-to-day management of evening, Saturday, and Sunday Cornerstone programmingCreate and maintain monthly and weekly schedules for evening and weekend participantsAssist in the coordination, collection, and summarization of program data and statistical information in compliance with DYCD and DOH requirementsMonitor and inventory program equipment and supplies; ensure repairs are requested and adequate supplies are maintainedEnsure smooth program operations within the building, including addressing maintenance, safety, and security concerns during program hoursAttend agency-wide meetings, trainings, and required professional development sessionsPerform additional administrative and programmatic duties as assigned by the Program DirectorYouth and Community DevelopmentCoordinate recruitment, outreach, and engagement of high school youth and adult Cornerstone participantsFacilitate and manage Youth Council and advisory board meetings to promote youth voice and leadership developmentCreate, implement, and support age-appropriate youth and adult activities aligned with Cornerstone program goalsAssist in the facilitation of program activities, workshops, and special events for youth, adults, and familiesProvide on-site crisis intervention and de-escalation support when the program is in operationAttend and represent the program at community tenant association and board meetings to strengthen community partnershipsFoster a welcoming, inclusive, and safe community center environment for all participantsStaffing and Program SupervisionSupervise evening and weekend staff, including group leaders, activity specialists, part-time program aides, and internsSupport staff through coaching, guidance, and on-site supervision to ensure high-quality program deliveryAssist in facilitating ongoing staff meetings and trainings to promote professional growth and program alignmentIn consultation with the Program Director, participate in the hiring and onboarding of program staffEnsure adequate staffing coverage for evening and weekend programmingAssist with oversight and compliance related to DYCD, DOH, and NYCHA partnerships and program requirementsFlatbush Development Corporation, Inc., provides equal employment opportunities (EEO) to all employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, disability, genetic information, marital status, amnesty, or status as a covered veteran in accordance with applicable federal, state and local laws.Powered by JazzHRhOdRpJXWHj
