Aerospace Engineer Direct Hire or Contract to Hire On Site Location: Greater Tampa Bay Area 4-10 Schedule: Monday - Thursday [4 day 10 hour work week] This position pays between $40.86 and $52.88 per hour. Direct Hire Salary Range $85,000 - $100,000 annually Pay for this contract position is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Job Description - Support the development of weight-optimized, compliant airworthy components and structural assemblies, which satisfy the contractual design criteria as well as design producibility requirements. - BSME or rerated degree preferred but will consider overall experience vs formal education. - NASTRAN Cert is important. - Perform detailed 3D designs; generate CAD drawings and related documents, and support manufacturing and assembly of components. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE: - Minimum education of a Bachelor's degree in Aeronautical engineering or equivalent credentials. - Minimum 10 to Maximum 15 years of Engineering design experience, in the spacecraft or aerospace industry, involving detailed design work starting at the conceptual level, maturing into production and installation. - 5-10 years working experience with classical hand stress analysis methods. - Experience in technical report writing and must have excellent communication skills, be fluent in English (spoken and written) and proficient in MS Word, MS Excel, MS Teams. - Must be able to work effectively in a team environment. - Understand design work starting at the conceptual level, maturing into full 3D modeling, hand calculations, validation of FEA analysis and continuing into manufacturing. - Possess in-depth knowledge of and applicable experience with aircraft structural analysis methods, including hand calculation experience for mechanical joints. Using resources such as MMPDS, Bruhn, Roark, etc., aircraft fasteners, materials, sheet metal assemblies, machined fittings. - Experience with the structural and fatigue analysis of mechanical and electronic components. - Appropriate Knowledge of regulatory (FAA and/or military) issues related to aircraft design and analysis and their impact on conformity and compliance is required (i.e., certification, qualification). - Candidate must provide evidence of proficiency in advanced stress analysis using NASTRAN and finite element modeling with FEMAP / ANSYS / NX or equivalent.
