Sales Application Engineer

Fast Growing Manufacturer of complex and durable Machinery systems used in a variety of industrial applications seeks an experienced Applications Engineer to join its growing team. This is an extremely fast paced and technically challenging role supporting the sales team with complex conceptual level solutions for a wide variety of industrial applications. This individual will work frequently in Solidworks (and some autocad) to design plant level designs for customized machinery solutions. This individual will travel occasionally (10%-20%) to better understand the unique challenge presented at each customer and ultimately bring these solutions together using their engineering foundation skills/knowledge and mechanical aptitude. This individual should be very computer savvy but also have above average mechanical common sense. Each systems produced is uniquely configured to each customer’s need and will involve a variety of complex machinery components, including shafts, chutes, conveyors, motor systems, gearboxes, etc. This is a dream job for a gearhead type of engineer that also enjoys working directly with customers to solve very challenging engineering solutions.What You’ll Do:Engage directly with customers to understand their unique engineering needsDesign complete systems and support technical proposals and quotationsSupport field sales reps with application expertise, pricing, and project guidanceCoordinate with engineering, production, and controls teams to bring systems from concept to fabricationManage communication between customers and internal teams throughout the projectTravel to customer sites and industry trade shows to discuss projects and build relationshipsWhat You Bring:Strong communication skills and a genuine interest in helping customers find the right solutionAbility to interpret drawings, specifications, and technical requirementsExperience performing Plant Layout Design work.Comfort making decisions in a fast‑moving environmentSolid organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projectsProficiency with standard business and engineering software (MS Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)Qualifications:Required: 2‑year degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field, or 2+ years of technical applications engineering experience for machinery, conveyors, etc.Preferred: 4‑year engineering degreeWillingness to travel for customer visits and trade showsExperience performing Plant Layout Design using CAD software (3D preferred)Experience working in a Machinery Manufacturing Environment
