Retail Security Officer

Job Summary We’re hiring a Retail Security Officer to help maintain a safe, secure, and welcoming shopping environment. This role is ideal for someone who is observant, professional, and comfortable taking initiative in a fast-paced retail setting. You’ll play a key role in theft prevention, incident response, and supporting both customers and staff. Job Responsibilities Maintain a visible security presence to deter theft and unsafe behavior Monitor for shoplifting, employee theft, and safety concerns Conduct interior and exterior patrols, including parking areas Operate video surveillance, alarms, and other security equipment Respond to incidents using de-escalation and crisis management techniques Accurately document incidents and investigations Conduct theft recoveries and apprehensions in accordance with company policy Communicate clearly with team members and assist customers when needed Support a safe, ethical, and professional store environment Perform additional duties as business needs require Qualifications & Requirements Must be 18 years or older High school diploma or equivalent Clean criminal background (no felony convictions) Valid driver’s license 2+ years of retail security or loss prevention experience Strong observation and attention to detail Effective verbal and written communication skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Comfortable in a physically active role: Standing/walking for long periods Lifting up to 40 lbs Ability to remain calm and professional in stressful situations Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays Schedule Full-time 8–12 hour shifts Weekdays and weekends required Job Type: Full-time Pay: From $18.00 per hour Expected hours: No less than 40 per week Benefits: 401(k) Dental insurance Health insurance Life insurance Vision insurance Experience: retail security: 2 years (Required) License/Certification: Driver's License (Required) Work Location: In person
