About the Role
We’re looking for a hands-on Controller to lead our accounting operations and public company reporting. Reporting to the Principal Accounting Officer, the Controller will own SEC filings, technical accounting, internal controls, audits, and financial reporting processes. This role is key to ensuring the accuracy, transparency, and compliance of all financial data and reports.
What You'll Do
Lead monthly and quarterly close processes
Prepare and manage SEC filings (10-K, 10-Q, 8-K) and related footnotes
Support external audits and maintain SOX-compliant internal controls
Oversee general ledger, bank reconciliations, and financial statement accuracy
Produce internal financial reporting for leadership and the Board
Perform technical accounting research and draft memos
Coordinate with external tax advisors and auditors
Supervise AP/AR functions and support cash flow planning
What You’ll Bring
CPA required
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
5+ years of experience in accounting, with at least some in a public company
Strong working knowledge of GAAP, SEC reporting, and NASDAQ regulations
Experience with SOX compliance and internal controls
Skilled in Excel and comfortable working in ERP/accounting systems
Strong attention to detail, organization, and communication
Bonus If You Have
Experience in fintech, banking, or regulated industries
Prior exposure to cannabis industry regulations or related reporting challenges
Familiarity with investor relations and public company reporting tools
