If you thrive in a dynamic, growth-minded environment where your contribution directly matters and you’ll work alongside skilled professionals focused on achieving business-driven legal solutions, Mayer is where you can make an impact.ResponsibilitiesRepresent clients involved in various transportation related incidents, including auto accidents, tractor/trailer collisions, bus accidents, crane mishaps, dump truck incidents, fatalities, and motor vehicle accidents (MVA)Provide comprehensive legal counsel and defense strategies to individuals, businesses, and insurance companies operating within the transportation/trucking industryConduct thorough investigations into accidents, analyze evidence, asses liability, and develop defense strategies tailored to each case's unique circumstancesRepresent clients in negotiations, mediation, and court proceedingsConduct legal research and provide legal analysis on various issues related to transportation and personal injury lawDraft pleadings, motions, and discovery requestsPrepare for and attend depositions, hearings, and trialsCommunicate with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnelParticipate in case strategy discussions and negotiationsManage case files and maintain accurate and organized recordsAttend continuing legal education courses to stay current on legal developmentsExperience Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law schoolAdmission to the State Bar of TexasThe ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of experience in litigation/insurance defenseStrong research and writing skillsExcellent oral communication and negotiation skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamStrong organizational and time management skillsWillingness to travel when necessaryDraft pleadings, motions, and discovery requestsPrepare for and attend depositions, hearings, and trialsCommunicate with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnelParticipate in case strategy discussions and negotiationsManage case files and maintain accurate and organized recordsAttend continuing legal education courses to stay current on legal developmentsBenefitsCompetitive quarterly bonus plan based on monthly billables - ability to earn an additional $52k annuallyFull suite of health/dental/vision benefits that go into effect the 1st of the month after an employee starts with the firm10 company holidays + 4 early release days Hybrid schedule (3 days/week in office, 2 days/week at home)401k + firm match based on previous year revenue.
