Millwork Worker
Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Millwork Shop Supervisor to lead our team in the production of high-quality millwork products. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in manufacturing, carpentry, and materials handling, along with excellent leadership abilities. This role requires hands-on involvement in the fabrication and assembly processes while ensuring that safety and quality standards are met.
Duties
Supervise and coordinate daily operations within the millwork shop, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to production schedules.
Oversee the use of hand tools, power tools, and machinery for the fabrication of millwork products.
Train and mentor shop personnel on best practices in machining, assembly, and materials handling.
Conduct regular inspections of equipment and work areas to maintain safety standards and ensure proper maintenance.
Collaborate with project managers to understand project specifications and timelines.
Manage inventory levels of materials and supplies necessary for production.
Implement quality control measures to ensure all products meet company standards before shipment.
Assist in troubleshooting mechanical issues that may arise during production.
Requirements
Proven experience in a manufacturing or millwork environment is essential.
Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to operate various types of machinery and tools effectively.
Proficiency in carpentry, fabrication, assembly, and machining techniques.
Familiarity with materials handling processes within a warehouse setting.
Experience operating forklifts is preferred.
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also demonstrating strong leadership skills.
Excellent problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
