Senior Accountant

Position SummaryWe are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to join our finance team. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for overseeing general accounting operations, preparing financial reports, managing month-end close activities, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and company policies. This role requires strong analytical skills, accuracy, and the ability to work collaboratively across departments.Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statementsLead month-end and year-end closing processesReconcile general ledger accounts, bank statements, and balance sheet accountsPrepare journal entries and maintain accurate financial recordsAssist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysisSupport external audits and coordinate with auditors during annual reviewsEnsure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policiesAnalyze financial data and identify discrepancies or trendsAssist with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll oversight as neededMaintain fixed asset schedules and depreciation recordsPrepare sales tax, property tax, and other regulatory filingsDevelop and improve accounting procedures and internal controlsMentor junior accounting staff and provide guidance on accounting processesCollaborate with management on financial reporting and operational improvementsQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field5+ years of accounting experience requiredStrong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting principlesExperience with ERP/accounting software such as QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP, or OracleAdvanced proficiency in Microsoft ExcelCPA designation preferred but not requiredStrong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skillsExcellent communication and interpersonal abilitiesAbility to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environmentPreferred ExperienceExperience in manufacturing, engineering, construction, or professional services environments preferredExperience with cost accounting and inventory accounting is a plusPrior experience supervising or mentoring staff preferred
