Network and Systems Engineer

Position OverviewWe are seeking a Network & Systems Engineer in the Indianapolis area with CCNA-level networking knowledge to support and maintain IT environments across our managed services customer base.This is a hands-on, execution-focused, onsite role responsible for resolving tickets across all tiers, maintaining network stability, and ensuring all environments are properly documented, monitored, and standardized.This role requires flexibility to balance project-based network work with day-to-day help desk responsibilities, as well as the ability to mentor junior team members.Engineers are expected to take ownership of assigned client environments and demonstrate measurable improvement over time.The ideal candidate is self-sufficient, detail-oriented, and accountable.Key ResponsibilitiesService Delivery & Support·      Resolve Tier 1–3 support tickets across network, M365/Azure/Intune, endpoints·      Own issues end-to-end·      Maintain strong ticket hygieneNetwork Management (CCNA-Level)·      Configure VLANs, DHCP, DNS, NAT, routing·      Support firewalls, switches, wireless·      Firmware upgrades & standardization·      Review infrastructure and recommend modernization·      Collaborate on standardizationMonitoring, Alerting & Reporting·      Own monitoring accuracy (Auvik/RMM)·      Configure SNMP, alerting, discovery·      Build BrightGauge/Auvik dashboardsDocumentation·      Maintain diagrams, inventories, configs·      Ensure environments fully documentedProactive Environment Ownership·      Assess environments for risk·      Fix bottlenecks, misconfigs, SPOFs·      Improve stability, security, standardization·      Balance projects and help desk·      Work ticket queue when neededTeam Collaboration & Mentorship·      Train junior technicians·      Support escalations with knowledge transferSuccess Metrics (KPIs)·      High ticket resolution·      100% documentation·      Reduced recurring issues·      Full monitoring coverage·      Accurate dashboards·      Proactive issue resolutionCertifications & Qualifications·      CCNA preferred or equivalent experience·      Microsoft 365 & Azure experience/certs preferredEquivalent hands-on experience in Microsoft 365 and Azure environments is acceptable in place of certifications; however, candidates must demonstrate real-world administration and troubleshooting experience.Behavioral Expectations (NON-NEGOTIABLE)·      Self-sufficient and accountable·      Strong documentation discipline·      Executes quickly and efficiently·      Team-first mindset·      Does not overengineer simple environments·      Takes ownership instead of passing issuesWhat This Role Is NOT·      Not a senior architect role·      Not someone who avoids tickets·      Not someone who needs constant direction·      Not someone who overcomplicates environmentsIdeal Experience·      3–6 years' experience·      MSP experience preferred·      Supports SMB environments·      Balances reactive/proactive workInterview RequirementsCandidate must demonstrate how they have previously built or improved monitoring visibility and alerting.Benefits Offered:Health InsuranceMedical/Dental/VisionPaid Time OffLife and Disability Insurance401(k)
