Apply on Linkedin or Indeed: https://www.indeed.com/job/restaurant-manager-59140100a38d9011Restaurant ManagerLocation: National City, CA Type: Full-time, Salaried Compensation: $80,000 annuallyPosition SummarySessions by the Bay is hiring an experienced Restaurant Manager to support our General Manager in overseeing full restaurant operations, including front-of-house service, kitchen coordination, and overall performance of the business.This role is ideal for a proven restaurant leader with a minimum of 5 years of management experience in a full-service restaurant, who understands both guest experience and the operational systems that drive consistency, efficiency, and profitability.This is not a lounge, nightclub, or bar-only role — we are seeking candidates with true restaurant experience who can operate confidently on the floor while maintaining awareness of kitchen execution, inventory flow, and cost control.You should be someone who can run the shift, lead the team, and keep the operation aligned — from the guest experience to what’s happening behind the line.Candidates must be prepared to work a minimum of 40+ hours per week, with flexibility for 12-hour days when needed, especially on weekends, holidays, and high-volume event days.What Makes You a FitThis role requires someone who is steady, observant, and fully engaged in the operation — someone who takes responsibility for how the room runs, how the team performs, and how the guest experience comes together.You stay composed and focused, even when the pace picks upYou recognize issues early and step in before they affect serviceYou communicate clearly with both the team and guests — direct, respectful, and effectiveYou hold yourself and others accountable to a high standardYou understand how service, kitchen execution, and timing all connectYou’re comfortable working across both FOH and BOH to keep things alignedYou take ownership of details — from service flow to cleanliness to overall presentationYou approach problems with a solutions-first mindset and handle them in real timeYou lead through consistency, reliability, and follow-throughWhat You’ll Be DoingOverseeing the flow of service and ensuring the dining room operates efficiently throughout each shiftMaintaining a strong and visible presence on the floor, actively engaging with guests and ensuring a high level of satisfactionSupporting the General Manager in executing daily operations and maintaining consistencyManaging communication between the floor and the kitchen to keep timing and execution on trackStepping in quickly to correct issues and keep service moving smoothlyReinforcing expectations with the team and ensuring standards are consistently metSupporting scheduling, labor awareness, and overall shift performance using 7shiftsMaintaining awareness of product usage and inventory flow to support cost controlUsing Lightspeed POS to manage service flow, guest notes, and issue resolutionManaging reservations and pacing through OpenTableEnsuring all areas — service stations, dining spaces, and guest touchpoints — are clean and preparedHelping maintain the overall feel of the room during service, including pacing, transitions, and guest flowProviding reliable leadership during busy shifts and high-pressure momentsOperational ResponsibilitiesMaintain strong alignment between FOH service and kitchen executionMonitor labor, manage breaks, and minimize unnecessary overtimeSupport inventory awareness and ordering processes to reduce waste and control costsMaintain awareness of key performance metrics including labor cost, guest spend, and overall restaurant performance, and contribute to improving themEnsure compliance with food safety, RBS, and cannabis lounge regulationsExecute nightly closeouts and review shift performanceIdentify inefficiencies in service or operations and work with leadership to improve systemsSupport team performance and retention by addressing issues early, reinforcing expectations, and following through on accountabilityQualificationsMinimum 5 years of restaurant management experience in a full-service restaurantStrong understanding of both FOH service and BOH/kitchen coordinationExperience with:Inventory awareness and cost controlService pacing and kitchen communicationProficient with:Lightspeed POS7shiftsOpenTableStrong leadership, communication, and organizational skillsAbility to operate effectively in a high-volume, fast-paced environmentMust be available nights, weekends, and holidaysCertifications (Required or Willing to Obtain)RBS (Responsible Beverage Service) certificationServeSafe or California Food Handler certificationCalifornia 3-hour anti-harassment trainingPhysical & Scheduling RequirementsStand or walk for up to 10–12 hours per shiftLift up to 50 lbs;
