We are seeking an experienced Senior Embedded Systems Engineer to lead the design and development of our embedded hardware and firmware platform. Key Responsibilities Lead the technical architecture and engineering decisions for embedded hardware and firmware development throughout the product lifecycle. Design custom embedded electronic hardware and multi-layer printed circuit boards (PCBs). Develop robust, production-quality embedded firmware using C/C++. Integrate sensors, actuators, displays, motors, pumps, and wireless communication technologies. Design and implement secure IoT connectivity using industry-standard communication protocols. Create schematics, PCB layouts, Bills of Materials (BOMs), Gerber files, and manufacturing documentation. Build, test, troubleshoot, and validate prototype hardware using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, multimeters, and other standard laboratory equipment. Collaborate closely with mechanical, manufacturing, and production teams to ensure designs are optimized for manufacturability, reliability, quality, and long-term performance. Research emerging technologies and recommend innovative solutions that enhance product functionality, reliability, and customer experience. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Embedded Systems, or a related field. Master's degree is a plus. Five or more years of professional experience designing embedded electronic systems from concept through production. Demonstrated experience developing commercial products using ESP32 or comparable embedded microcontroller platforms. Extensive experience developing embedded firmware in C/C++. Strong knowledge of PCB design, schematic capture, and multi-layer board layout using Altium Designer, KiCad, Eagle, or equivalent EDA tools. Experience taking embedded products from concept through prototyping, validation, manufacturing, and production. Experience with embedded communication interfaces including I²C, SPI, UART, ADC, PWM, timers, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE). Experience implementing secure communications using REST APIs, MQTT, WebSockets, JSON, and TLS/SSL. Strong hands-on debugging skills using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, multimeters, and other electronic test equipment. Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills. Self-motivated, innovative, and capable of managing projects with minimal supervision. Preferred Qualifications Experience designing connected IoT products. Experience supporting products through manufacturing and production. Experience designing products that integrate with cloud services, mobile applications, or connected ecosystems. Familiarity with FCC, CE, or UL compliance requirements. Experience designing electronics for demanding environmental conditions. Experience with FreeRTOS and Over-the-Air (OTA) firmware updates. Familiarity with embedded cybersecurity best practices or relevant security certifications is considered a plus. Why Join Us?
