Ensures continuity of the operating assets, achieving department objectives, and facilitating sound business decisions. The OMC is responsible for the maintenance coordination required to maintain and ensure operating reliability. The OMC for the paper department will report to the Paper Mill Superintendent.How You Will Impact WestRockManages the department safety work order backlogCoordinates scheduled shutdowns and unscheduled outagesKeeping “planned work order” backlog according to guidelines; utilize backlog to schedule daily and weekly work listPrioritizing and approving break-in or emergency workPrioritizing work order backlogScheduling on-the-run backlogScreening and approving all work orders for asset area; assuring quality of all work orders (coding accuracy, symptoms, accurately described)Serving as project originator for maintenance capital in asset area, including documentationBeing a technical resource for solving chronic and repeat failuresPlanning the installation and startup of new equipment to minimize the upset of normal operationsWork with training resources to maintain detailed, structured on-the-job training manuals for department tasks and jobsSupport and foster safety and environmental complianceWhat You Need To SucceedHigh School Diploma or equivalent, Bachelor’s degree is preferred5-10 years of experience in Pulp and Paper industry is preferredKnowledge of Paper Machines and ProcessSupervisory or management experience is preferredCompetenciesSafety – Exhibits strong competencies in Safety Mindset and has a thorough understanding of safety policies and procedures.Ability to Execute – Targets and achieves results, sets and accomplishes challenging goals, prioritizes and manages tasks effectively, maintains an organized system to monitor progress, overcomes obstacles, accepts accountability, sets standards and responsibilities.Champion of & Adaptor to Change – Drives for continuous improvement while managing expectations and results.
