Software Quality Assurance Analyst and Tester

Job Description:Job SummaryAn organization is seeking a Software Quality Assurance Analyst and Tester (Journeyman) to support advanced modeling and simulation environments. This role focuses on component-level software testing, validating system performance, and ensuring software quality prior to full system integration.What You Can Expect to Do:Write and execute test cases for individual software componentsDocument test processes, execution results, and findingsAnalyze test reports and performance metricsValidate software functionality prior to system integrationUse command-line tools, scripts, and test stubs/mocks for validationIdentify, document, and report software defects using tracking toolsParticipate in software design reviews and provide feedback on requirements and performanceCollaborate with development teams to resolve issuesSupport testing activities within Linux-based and DevOps environmentsRequired Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in a technical field OR High School diploma with relevant experience3+ years of experience in software testingExperience with component-level testing of software modulesExperience developing test plans and test casesProficiency with command-line tools, scripting, and testing techniquesExperience working in Linux environmentsFamiliarity with DevOps tools and CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitLab, Bitbucket, Azure DevOps)Experience using defect tracking tools (e.g., Jira)Strong documentation and communication skillsAbility to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance Preferred Qualifications:Experience working in Agile environments (sprints, PI planning, etc.)Experience with testing tools such as gcovFamiliarity with Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, etc.)Experience supporting modeling and simulation environmentsExperience with automated testingExperience supporting DoD-related programsWorking Place:Patuxent, Maryland, United StatesCompany :
