Family Law Associate
A very exciting and rare opportunity has arisen for a mid-level Family Law Associate to join a highly regarded, globally recognised family law practice based in Los Angeles. The role offers exposure to complex, high-value domestic and international family law matters, working alongside market-leading practitioners and multidisciplinary in-house experts.Responsibilities:Handle both contentious and non-contentious family law matters for a diverse client baseManage divorce cases involving complex financial disputes, property division, and spousal supportDraft, review, and negotiate marital agreements, including prenuptial, postnuptial, and cohabitation agreementsRepresent clients in child custody, visitation, and paternity mattersAdvise on child support, adoption, guardianship, and parental rights issuesNavigate international family law matters, including cross-border custody disputes and asset divisionPrepare and file pleadings, motions, and other court documentsConduct legal research and remain current on family law legislation and case lawCollaborate with colleagues across private client, tax, trust, corporate, and employment teamsContribute to business development through articles, thought leadership, events, and relationship building with intermediaries and peer firmsQualifications:J.D. from an accredited law school3–6 years’ experience within a law firm family law practiceCalifornia Bar membership in good standingStrong academic background and technical family law expertiseProven ability to manage a busy caseload independently, including deadlines and time recordingCommercial, practical approach to client problem-solvingStrong interpersonal skills with the ability to inspire confidence in clients and referrersInterest in contributing to team growth, mentoring junior lawyers, and broader firm initiativesBenefits:Competitive salary range of $205,000–$280,000 (California)Exposure to high-profile, complex, and international family law mattersSupport from leading in-house experts across multiple practice areasClear platform for professional progression within a top-tier family law teamCollaborative and intellectually stimulating working environmentOpportunities for business development and profile-buildingIf you are interested in this position, and you meet the requirements of the role, please click ‘apply now’ to forward an up-to-date copy of your resume.
