RAN Staff Systems Engineer 5G / O-RAN

This role focuses ontranslating customer and product needs into detailed system requirements,architecture definitions, and technical specifications that guide software,hardware, and platform development. You will work across engineering, productmanagement, and customer teams to define how our RAN and DAS systems function,integrate, and perform in real-world deployments. This role sits within theArchitecture & Engineering organization and supports development of convergedRAN + DAS wireless solutions. This role is based hybrid in Nashua, NH.You Will Make an Impact By:System Definition & Requirements OwnershipTranslating customer, operator, and product requirements into detailedtechnical system requirementsDefining functional behavior, interface specifications, and architecturedesign for RAN and DAS platformsDeveloping system design documentation describing platform, networking,protocol, and software interactionsIdentifying platform resource requirements including compute, memory, andhardware interface considerationsCross-Functional Engineering LeadershipServing as the integration point between PLM, software, embedded, RF, andplatform engineering teamsProviding technical guidance to development teams throughout productlifecycleDriving system-level design reviews and requirement alignment acrossengineering organizationsSupporting definition of feature roadmaps and system capabilitiesCustomer & Deployment CollaborationWorking directly with operator, enterprise, and neutral-host customers tounderstand deployment requirements and performance expectationsSupporting field trials, interoperability testing, and acceptance activitiesTranslating field feedback and customer challenges into engineeringimprovements and feature requirementsSystem Architecture & IntegrationDefining system behavior across CU/DU/RU, DAS, and converged RANdeploymentsSupporting architecture development aligned with 3GPP and O-RANspecificationsEnsuring system integration across hardware, embedded software, networking,and timing infrastructureAnalyzing system tradeoffs to balance performance, scalability, andcustomer requirementsPerformance & TroubleshootingSupporting cross-layer system troubleshooting and performance analysisEvaluating system behavior across networking, protocol, platform, and radiosubsystemsContributing to system optimization and release readiness activitiesRequired Qualifications for Consideration:Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, orrelated technical field8+ years of experience in wireless infrastructure, telecommunicationssystems, or RAN product developmentExperience defining or authoring system requirements, architecturedocumentation, or feature specificationsStrong understanding of LTE and 5G RAN architecture and wireless systembehaviorExperience working across software, hardware, and networking system domainsExposure to customer deployments, interoperability testing, or carrieracceptance activitiesWorking understanding of wireless protocols, networking technologies, andplatform integration conceptsFamiliarity with O-RAN architecture and fronthaul technologies such as CPRIor eCPRIExperience working in cross-functional engineering environmentsYou Will Excite Us If You:Have experience working for RAN vendors, wireless infrastructure providers,or Open RAN ecosystem companiesHave contributed to product definition, system architecture, orstandards-driven developmentHave supported carrier deployments, stadium networks, or enterprise wirelessdeploymentsHave familiarity with embedded software or scripting languages used forsystem validation or automationCommunicate complex technical concepts clearly to customers and engineeringteamsWhy ANDREW?Explore exciting career opportunities at ANDREW, part of the Amphenol family.With a legacy of over 85 years in wireless innovation, we empower mobileoperators and enterprises with cutting-edge solutions.ANDREW, an Amphenol company, is proud of our reputation as an excellentemployer.
