Medical Records Administrator

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:Files and retrieves patient charts. Searches for and investigates information contained in files, keeps files current, supplies information from file data, and removes files upon authorization. Maintains archived chart logs. Sorts and distributes incoming mail. Prepare charts for release of medical records to various entities following specific procedures. Cross trains on telephone operator position. Performs other work-related duties as assigned. Performs site specific tasks. EHR update: If the medical records request is for an attorney, the patient is leaving the practice, or if the request is for a second opinion, medical records personnel need to pull the chart for the provider and prepare the check list. For all other requests: prepare the check list; but you no longer need to have the physician sign off on the record requests. Most information should be faxed directly from ONCO.
