PRODUCT MANAGER, NIL GOCollege Sports CommissionFairfax County, VirginiaThe College Sports Commission (CSC) is seeking a motivated, organized, and team-oriented individual to serve as the Product Manager for NIL Go. This position will report to the Director of Operations & NIL Go.The CSC utilizes NIL Go, an online portal built with assistance from Deloitte, to assess student-athletes’ Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) deals with third parties. All NCAA Division I student-athletes must report third-party NIL deals with a total value of six hundred dollars ($600) or more in the aggregate to NIL Go. As part of reviewing the submissions, the CSC ensures the deals are made with the purpose of using a student-athlete’s NIL for a valid business purpose and do not exceed a reasonable range of compensation. The Product Manager, NIL Go will serve a key role in communicating with all stakeholders throughout the NIL Go ecosystem, including institutions, student-athletes, and sponsors/facilitators, about NIL Go’s features and system.The rules surrounding the submission and review of NIL deals were created as a result of the landmark settlement in House v. NCAA (“House”). The House settlement allows student-athletes to benefit financially from their participation in intercollegiate athletics. The CSC was established as the enforcement entity overseeing compliance with the new rules after the settlement.The CSC’s work policy requires four days per week in-office at its worksite in Tysons Corner, Virginia and one day of remote work.ResponsibilitiesProduct Ownership & StrategyExhibit relentless focus on NIL Go’ overall functionality in alignment with CSC’s mission and regulatory requirementsUnderstand relevant compliance landscape and develop a viewpoint on CSC’s product-related preferences and needsIn partnership with the Director, NIL Go Operations, direct system vendor’s development team with respect to prioritization of features, enhancements, and integrationsAct as CSC’s primary liaison with system vendor for issue resolution, escalations, and release managementProactively identify risks related to usage and complianceUser & Stakeholder EngagementEstablish trust and professional rapport with system vendor as the basis for vital working relationshipImplement systems to gather feedback from student-athletes, institutional users, third parties and CSC staff to inform the product roadmap and impact user experienceSupport CSC teammates efforts in communicating with system stakeholders.Delivery & SupportPartner with CSC’s enforcement and compliance teams to ensure NIL Go supports investigative and reporting needs.Develop and deliver onboarding and training programs to ensure schools are interacting with NIL Go correctly.Technical SkillsThe ability to document user journeys, workflows, and operational processes, and translate business processes into clear technical requirements, user stories, and implementation-ready specifications.Familiarity collaborating with design teams (experience with Figma preferred) to review wireframes, prototypes, and UX flows, and confirm product requirements align with intended user experience.Experience conducting quality assurance testing to confirm product design and build activities function as intended based on requirements and desired user experience.Experience using BI/reporting platforms (experience with Amazon Quick preferred) to build dashboards, track KPIs, analyze trends, and turn business data into actionable insights for product and stakeholder decision-making.A strong grasp of roadmap planning and tracking, user research & empathy, and the software development lifecycle.The ability to translate complex concepts into clear, concise language for a variety of audiences, from institutional compliance officers to CSC executives.The capacity to analyze system data, identify trends, and provide data-driven recommendations to support the CSC’s strategic goals.Other QualificationsEnglish fluency requiredBachelor's Degree requiredMinimum of three years of professional experience in digital product management, particularly with complex, data-intensive B2B SaaS platforms, or management consulting with a focus on technology implementation or regulatory compliance.Demonstrated experience managing relationships with third party software vendors and technology partners.Experience with data-driven compliance and risk management systems.Exposure to, or experience working with one or more project management environmentsExperience in a start-up or new venture environment, demonstrating adaptability and a willingness to take on a wide range of responsibilities.Demonstrated ability to manage deliverables with time-sensitive deadlinesSelf-motivated, curious team player who knows college sportsStrong attention to detail and well-organizedMust be able, with or without accommodation, to perform essential position functions, which include, but are not limited to, thinking (concentrating, focusing, assimilating information), reading, writing, listening, typing, speaking, and sitting for extended periodsSalary Range: $105,000-$125,000The salary range for this position is a good faith estimate based on a wide range of factors including qualifications, experience and training, operational and business needs, and other considerations permitted by law. Starting salaries for new employees are frequently not at the top of the applicable salary range.
