Software Engineer, Applied AI Solutions
Overview:
As a Software Engineer in Contentful's Applied AI product line, you help design and sustain Marketplace features and related AI tooling. You will work across the Marketplace surface, contributing to apps, integrations, and developer experience, while collaborating with product and design teams. You'll apply AI-assisted workflows to speed delivery and improve engineering productivity, aiming for scalable, reliable production systems. This role offers ownership across full software lifecycle in a cross-functional environment with meaningful customer impact. Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and maintain Marketplace features, apps, and supporting services
- Improve contribution workflows and review pipelines for faster time-to-market
- Contribute across adjacent Applied AI areas (Extensibility, Developer Experience)
- Own production software including debugging, observability, and reliability
- Collaborate with product, design, and engineers to solve customer problems
- Generalize and productionize internally built apps for long-term support
- Leverage AI-assisted workflows across planning, implementation, and documentation
- Key requirements4–7 years of relevant software engineering experience
- Strong TypeScript and Node.js experience
- Front-end product surface development with React or similar frameworks
- Experience designing and evolving APIs and integrations
- Ability to work across stack from UI to backend and tooling
- Good judgment on reliability, security, and tradeoffs in production
- Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration
