Join us, and discover why U.S. News & World Report has named us one of America's Best Hospitals!What will you be doing in this role?The Patient Transporter is responsible for the safe, timely and accurate transport of patients, medical equipment and patient-related items to and from their destinations in a professional, courteous and compassionate manner. This service will enable nurses, clinical partners, physicians, diagnostic technicians and therapists to perform their duties in an efficient and effective manner. Ensures all patient interactions are conducted using the concept of AIDET as the primary communication tool. Responsibilities also include movement of equipment, supplies and operation of elevators to facilitate patient and equipment transports. These services include, but are not limited to transporting patients, equipment and supplies between nursing units, diagnostic areas, emergency department and morgue. The Transporter must work collaboratively with Management, the Dispatch Call Center and all healthcare team personnel.Qualifications:Outstanding customer service and interpersonal skills.Patient transport experience in an acute care hospital preferred.Full comprehension (verbal and written) of the English language.High school diploma or equivalent required.Valid Basic Life Safety (BLS) Certification through American Red Cross (ARC) or American Health Association (AHA) is required.Must be able to work 10hr shiftsPhysical Requirements:Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods.Ability to bend, stoop, lift equipment up to 25 pounds, push and pull equipment weighting up to 400 pounds.Must be able to work with assigned equipment, gurneys, beds, wheel chairs, etc.
