The Sprinkler Service Technician II is responsible for performing inspection, testing, maintenance (ITM), troubleshooting, and repair of fire sprinkler systems in accordance with applicable codes and standards. This role works independently on service calls, performs system evaluations, provides technical recommendations, and supports the training of junior technicians. The position requires strong technical skills, a high level of self-organization, and a customer-focused approach in fast-paced service environments. Clearance/Citizen Type: Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements including U.S. citizenship for access to classified information. (Ability to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret clearance required.) Responsibilities * Perform inspection, testing, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of fire sprinkler systemsService system components including sprinklers, valves, piping, standpipes, and related devicesConduct system evaluations and site surveys to assess system condition and complianceIdentify deficiencies and provide clear, code-compliant repair and upgrade recommendationsCoordinate with service coordinators and customers to ensure timely service deliveryAccurately document inspections, test results, deficiencies, and repairsCommunicate system status, findings, and recommendations professionally to customersSupport and train junior technicians and apprentices through on-the-job guidanceEnsure compliance with NFPA standards, manufacturer requirements, and company proceduresRespond to service calls, including urgent and emergency situations, as requiredWork effectively under pressure while managing multiple service calls and prioritiesMaintain tools, equipment, and service vehicles in safe and working conditionFollow all company safety policies and promote safe work practices. Qualifications * High School Diploma (required) with 5 years of relevant experience Or2 years technology degree and 4 years of relevant experience.Experience as a fire sprinkler service technician or equivalent roleExperience performing inspection, testing, maintenance, and repair of fire sprinkler systemsKnowledge of applicable NFPA standards (including NFPA 13 and NFPA 25)Requires a Valid driver's license. This position may require ongoing or intermittent use of a company vehicle. * Selected candidates must possess an acceptable driving record in accordance to our policyAbility to pass background checks and meet site-specific access requirements.This position has been identified as requiring an additional client background check.Required Skills and Competencies * Strong technical knowledge of fire sprinkler systems and ITM practicesAbility to work independently and manage service assignmentsStrong troubleshooting and problem-solving skillsHigh level of self-organization and time managementAbility to multitask and adapt to changing service prioritiesAbility to work under stress and in time-sensitive environmentsStrong customer service and communication skillsAttention to detail with a focus on documentation and complianceAbility to support and train junior techniciansCertifications: * Posses NICET II in Inspection and Testing of Water-Based Systems orPass NICET II in Inspection and Testing of Water-Based Systems exam within 90 days of employmentNICET III (Preferred)Preferred Qualifications * Experience servicing standpipes and fire pumps (preferred)Experience coordinating AHJ inspections and deficiency correctionsManufacturer training or certificationsWorking Conditions * Field-based role with work performed at customer sitesMay require travel, on-call rotation, flexible hours, and emergency responseWork involves ladders, confined spaces, lifting, and exposure to construction and industrial environments.Abilities: * The position requires the ability to lift, carry, and move objects weighing up to [50 pounds] on a regular basis. Candidates must demonstrate physical strength and stamina to perform various tasks, including but not limited to, loading, and unloading, operating equipment, and assisting in the transportation of various materials. Proper lifting techniques and safety protocols must be followed to ensure personal and team safety.Relocates a 12 foot stepladder without assistance.Works at various heights up to 60 feet and can climb and maintain balance on scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks and all types of ladders.Walks, climbs, lifts, squats, crawls, kneels, pushes, pulls and reaches overhead on a routine and repetitive basis.Possess good vision (may be corrected vision), the ability to see in color, and the ability to hear and communicate in English.May use a standard ladder without exceeding the weight limit while carrying tools.Tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong.
