We don't want you to live to work, we want you to work and live.What you can expect as an Aircraft Maintenance Technician at West Star:Whether you are replacing or repairing parts, troubleshooting electrical/mechanical/hydraulic and pneumatic systems or performing inspections on some of the most sophisticated civilian aircraft in the world, no day is the same. What is the same, is that each day will bring new experiences and opportunities for growth.You will be ESSENTIAL to many FUNCTIONS including:Performing general mechanical tasks on aircraft and related systems.Removal and installation of panels and components,Troubleshooting and problem-solving aircraft system/component issuesDe-fueling aircraftEngine removal/installations,Operating ground support equipment,Inspection and evaluation of the aircraft and componentsAircraft movement and assistance in performance runs/ taxiingMaintenance and repair of shop facility, equipment and toolingBasic computer skills to be able to navigate electronic training, manuals, and maintenance data basesEffectively and clearly communicate (i.e., speak, write, read) in EnglishAny other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor or management.What you'll need to bring with you:Your EducationA High school diploma or equivalent. A valid driver's license approved for airline travel and/or a valid passport is ideal, but not mandatory.Your Experience:AMT I:Airframe or Powerplant license is required. Airframe license is preferred.0-2 years of experience in aviation maintenance, avionics, or similar.These technicians have limited to moderate knowledge of general maintenance aspectsTechnicians require close supervision of general maintenance tasksAMT II:Airframe or Powerplant license is required. Airframe license is preferred.2-4 years of experience working in aviation maintenanceExperience working on corporate aircraft is preferred but not essential.These technicians have considerable knowledge of the job and general maintenance aspects.Technicians require general supervision on routine maintenance and more detailed instruction for new or special assignments.AMT III:Airframe license is required; in addition, Powerplant license is highly preferred4-6+ years' experience in aviation maintenanceExperience working on corporate aircraft is highly preferred but not essential.These technicians have full knowledge of general, detailed, and special assignments in aircraft maintenanceAMT IV (Master)Airframe and Powerplant license is required.6+ years' experience in aviation maintenanceMust have extensive experience on corporate aircraft platformsSubject matter expert in all areas of the jobYour Initiative:We're looking for team players who are self-motivated and able to perform in a fast-paced environment where working under specific deadlines and time constraints will be common.Your Sense of Responsibility:Attend work every day as scheduled to include overtime and weekend assignments.Notify supervisor in advance of shift starting if unable to work.Must have reliable transportation to get to work each day.Perform all work in accordance with Federal Aviation Administration guidelines.Follow all company and safety rules during performance of duties.Maintain customer-oriented work habits.Other particulars:Physical RequirementsLifts 50 lbs.Routine walking, bending and squatting or sitting.Routine or repetitive physical motion with arms and hands.Climb ladders and stairs, work in small, restricted areasStanding for long periods of time.Mental RequirementsUnderstanding and implementation of regulations and guidelines.Troubleshoot or evaluate system operation.Work with others in a professional manner.SupervisionWork under supervision of assigned Team Leader and Director of Maintenance.May be directed to supervise other technicians in some capacity.Working ConditionsWork is performed in a hangar environment subject to extreme temperature variations from very cold to very hot.Work outside during aircraft runs will occur.Varied positions in and around the aircraft.Equipment UsedPersonal hand tools supplied by the mechanic.Pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical equipment.Jacks, stands, lifts and other support devices.Tugs, power carts and other engine powered equipment.Company Description:With over 78 years of industry experience, West Star Aviation stands as a leading independent Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) provider.
