Maintenance TechnicianThe Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintenance services including troubleshooting, installation, and maintenance of all electrical and mechanical systems within the facility.ResponsibilitiesComply with all Company rules for health and safety to include completion of safe work permits and actively seeking and completing hazard and exposure eliminationsFollow work instructions and preventative maintenance plans, enter job completion data and associated stores issue transactionsInterface with the SAP maintenance management systemIdentify improvement opportunities including the development of the preventative / predictive / proactive maintenance programs.Possess excellent critical thinking and problem-solving abilities; able to collaborate with others to find resolution to complex problemsAble to consult with outside vendors and contractorsHazardous chemical handlingAbility to safely operate maintenance equipment such as lathes, presses, saws, etc.Safe operation of forklifts, articulating lifts, and scissor lifts; perform work from ladders and scaffoldsFamiliar with NFPA70e/Arc Flash requirements in addition to CPR/First Aid guidelinesWorking knowledge of load interrupting switches, distribution transformers, switchgear, and circuit breakers; familiar with switching plans and LOTO of power circuitsWorking knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance strategiesFamiliar with infrared testing, vibration analysis, oil analysis, motor circuit analysis and ultrasound testingIn depth knowledge of relevant industry equipment, e.g., control valves, pumps, drives, instrumentation, AC/DC motors and controls, PLC and servo systemsAbility to interpret electrical / instrument loop diagramsAbility to use diagnostic equipment such as: voltmeters, ammeters and oscilloscopesWorking knowledge of maintenance plant facilities equipment such as lighting, air compressors, cooling towers, fire systems, HVAC, cranes and lifting devices, and other industrial systemsTroubleshoot and repair plant equipment breakdowns to ensure production schedules are met and work details are recorded in SAPEnsure all maintenance procedures and the quality of work is compliant with company standardsWorking knowledge of combustion and induction heating systemsStrong communication skills using multiple forms such as email, text, phone and face to faceBuild and maintain strong partnerships through effective communication with operators and other maintenance employeesOther duties as assignedBasic Qualifications:High School diploma5 Years previous maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment focusing on electrical and mechanical maintenanceAbility to prioritize and self-direct job duties and daily accountabilitiesWorking knowledge of Microsoft products such as Word, Excel and PowerPointAbility to work nights and weekends, overtime, shutdowns and flexible schedulingWorking knowledge of industrial plant power distribution equipment: transformers, load interrupting switches, switchgear, circuit breakers, trip relaysWorking knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance strategiesPreferred Qualifications:2-year technical degree or completion of Apprenticeship ProgramPrevious experience using maintenance management systems such as SAPFamiliarity with hazardous chemical handling proceduresKey Relationships:Operations and EngineeringOperations workforceTravel Requirements:Less than 5%Working Conditions:Position is within a fused quartz manufacturing facility with exposure to high heat, cold and at times broken quartz. Position will require indoor and outdoor work in addition to elevated surfaces and/or roof work.
