MG Recruiting Source is partnered with a growing commercial mechanical contractor to identify an experienced HVAC Estimator for a high-impact role supporting complex commercial projects. This opportunity is ideal for someone with a strong understanding of commercial HVAC systems who enjoys the preconstruction side of the business and wants the flexibility of a fully remote position while remaining based in the greater Tampa area.This person will play a key role in preparing accurate and competitive bids for commercial HVAC projects while collaborating closely with operations, project management, and leadership. Occasional travel to corporate offices or project meetings may be required.What You’ll DoPrepare detailed cost estimates for commercial HVAC projects including new construction and retrofit workAnalyze plans, specifications, and bid documentsPerform quantity takeoffs for ductwork, piping, equipment, controls, and related systemsSolicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor pricingDevelop labor, material, and equipment cost projectionsIdentify value engineering opportunities and cost-saving alternativesWork closely with leadership and operations teams during bid review processMaintain estimating databases, pricing history, and proposal templatesParticipate in handoff meetings for awarded workWhat We’re Looking For3+ years of estimating experience in commercial HVAC, mechanical contracting, or related tradesStrong understanding of HVAC systems, mechanical plans, and specificationsExperience bidding commercial construction projectsAbility to read blueprints and perform accurate takeoffsStrong organizational and communication skillsSelf-starter who can work independently in a remote environmentProficiency with estimating software, Excel, and digital plan platforms
