Senior Software Engineer - Data Platform
We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to help design and evolve a centralized data platform that supports large-scale ingestion, transformation, and analytics. This role is focused on building scalable infrastructure that enables efficient access to high-quality data across the organization. You will work closely with cross-functional stakeholders to understand data requirements, improve workflows, and deliver solutions that enable faster, more reliable insights. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to platform architecture, implement modern data processing solutions, and mentor junior team members. ResponsibilitiesHelp define and execute the technical roadmap for a platform supporting both batch and real-time data processingDesign and build capabilities across data ingestion, transformation, lineage, and governanceContribute to the development of scalable frameworks that support diverse data use casesEvaluate and implement new tools and technologies to improve performance and developer productivityBuild and maintain resilient, high-availability systems with strong operational visibilityEnsure platform reliability and stability through monitoring, testing, and production supportCollaborate with business and technical stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable data solutionsPartner with infrastructure and security teams to ensure systems are secure, compliant, and performantMentor and support junior engineers, promoting strong engineering practices QualificationsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field5+ years of experience working with data platforms, data lakes, or data warehousing systemsStrong experience with modern data processing frameworks (e.g., Spark, Hadoop ecosystem, Presto, etc.)Proficiency in at least one major programming language (e.g., Python, Java, C#)Hands-on experience working in cloud environments (e.g., AWS, GCP)Experience with infrastructure as code tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation, CDK, Pulumi)Experience designing and building APIs and data access layersFamiliarity with event-driven and streaming architectures (e.g., Kafka, Kinesis, Flink)Strong understanding of system design, data modeling, and performance optimization EOE Statement: Specialist Staffing Group is an equal opportunity employer.
