The Role, At a GlanceThe Manufacturing Engineer I supports, documents, and assists with improving repeatable processes required to manufacture Biamp products with a focus on safety, quality, ergonomics, delivery, and cost. As a Manufacturing Engineer I you will have the ability to demonstrate proactive thinking on projects and problems, and work with teams to drive for continuous improvement in all processes and to troubleshoot and resolve production obstacles. You will be responsible for the day-to-day support and improvement of PCBA on second shift.How You'll ContributeSustain manufacturing processes to ensure Production Operators can successfully meet or exceed established cycle timesMonitor, analyze, and report on quality and process metricsSupport quality issues and out-of-control events, including preventative and corrective action as well as subsequent continuous improvement projectsAssist with resolving process, product, or systems problems that prevent meeting standard cycle-times or create ergonomic issuesAssist with continuous improvement activities; utilize lean manufacturing principles to ensure sustainable improvementsEnsure facility layout, production flow, manufacturing methods, and work station design support production requirementsEnsure accurate sequence of events (SOE) and capacity models. Compare actual production time to SOEs to determine process performance and efficiency. Maintain accurate process times in ERP system to ensure accurate costing modelsEnsure all processes have accurate and reliable internal work instructions (IWI) and machines/tools have documentation to ensure safe, reliable, and repeatable processesDevelop and maintain risk management documentation (FMEA, Control Plans, etc)Assist with hands-on training of production staff on new or revised processes, products, tooling, and equipmentYou'll Also Support WithReviewing bill of materials (BOM), workflows, labor content and part number maintenance for manufacturing processesImplementing ECOs and completes ECO tasks as neededDeveloping Lean Manufacturing skills and knowledgeRepresenting area of responsibility at Daily Management System (DMS) meetings and report out on actions toward resolution of obstaclesInterfacing with Enterprise Applications team to select/create appropriate production flowsParticipating in DFM reviews and cross-functional collaboration with the Engineering, Test Engineering, Materials, and Production groups to help ensure timely release of New Production Implementation (NPI)Other duties as assigned by your managerA Successful Candidate Should Have2-year degree or a 4-year degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related fieldKnowledge of manufacturing processes, including lean manufacturing principlesProficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint and advanced competence in ExcelOrganized and analytical thinker with excellent written and verbal communication skillsStrong interpersonal skills with the ability to work with various department personnelMust be able to read and write in EnglishMust be willing to alter hours including working weekends as the job requiresMust be willing to travel (less than 5%) for trainingWork EnvironmentThis is an onsite position based in Tigard, OR.Ability to lift 25 lbs. frequently/occasionally and up to 50lbs periodicallyMust be able to work Monday through Thursday from 3:15pm to 1:45amStand or sit for long periodsPerform tasks (that may be repetitive) that require reaching, pushing, pulling, kneeling, walking, stooping and/or bendingWork in an environment that generates OSHA permissible machine noise levelsUse tools that require fine hand skillsVisually, observe and differentiate small moving partsAbility to wear PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) as required in designated areasWhat We OfferMedical, Dental, and Vision 401(k) + matching Employer-paid base life insurance, short, and long-term disability Health Savings Accounts (with Biamp contribution) and Flexible Spending Accounts Tuition reimbursement Discretionary profit-sharing Referral bonuses Who is Biamp?We make the world’s most extraordinary audio and video solutions.
