Overview:
In this role you own factory layout and material flow design across AWS rack fulfillment sites, shaping end-to-end manufacturing infrastructure. You’ll bridge capacity planning, automation, construction, and operations to scale data-center hardware production. You will drive data-driven layouts, simulations, and phased deployments to meet ramp and SLA targets. You collaborate across teams to optimize throughput, reduce cycle time, and enable rapid capacity deployment for new product platforms.

Responsibilities:
Translate capacity plans into facility layouts covering end-to-end material flow for EC2, Machine Learning, and Storage platformsDesign factory floor layouts with automation lines, manual zones, test positions, and material handling systems based on cycle time and product mixDevelop and maintain industrial simulation models (FlexSim, Plant Simulation, or equivalent) to identify bottlenecks and optimize throughputCoordinate power, cooling, network, and air requirements with facilities and construction teamsManage phased layout plans aligned with construction milestones and create clear visual documentation (2D/3D layouts, overlays) Own layout change control and develop replicable standards across global sitesDrive continuous improvement to reduce cycle time and improve throughput toward SLA targetsCommunicate effectively with executives and cross-functional teamsAdvocate for educating the organization on Automation
Key requirements:
Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science or equivalent 5+ years of technical product or program management experience 5+ years of technical program management with software engineering teams 7+ years of experience working directly with engineering teamsExperience managing programs across cross-functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedulesExperience defining KPIs/SLA for multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadershipexcellent communicationleadership and influencing abilityevangelist for teaching Automation to the organizationFlexSim or Plant Simulation (or equivalent)industrial layout designmaterial flow optimization
