Security Systems Engineer (PACS / Access Control / CCTV / IDS)
Risen Bits LLC is seeking an experienced Security Systems Engineer to support a long-term physical security maintenance contract across multiple government facilities in Idaho.
This is an excellent opportunity for a highly skilled technician with extensive experience in Access Control, Video Surveillance, and Intrusion Detection Systems who is looking for consistent long-term work.
The selected contractor will perform preventive maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, repairs, software support, and emergency service activities on mission-critical security systems.
ResponsibilitiesPhysical Access Control Systems (PACS)
Maintain and troubleshoot electronic access control systems
Service electronic locks, mechanical locks, door hardware, hinges, readers, controllers, and panels
Inspect and test field devices
Troubleshoot wiring, fiber optic cabling, and communication issues
Support system administration functions
Document repairs and maintenance activities
Video Surveillance Systems (VSS)
Maintain IP camera systems
Support recording servers and storage systems
Troubleshoot cameras and network connectivity
Perform inspections and operational testing
Replace failed components when required
Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS)
Support intrusion alarm systems
Maintain perimeter sensors and security devices
Service gates, barriers, and associated control equipment
Troubleshoot alarm communication issues
Support Security Management Systems (SMS)
Preventive Maintenance Duties
Annual inspections
System testing and validation
Backup battery replacements
Firmware and software updates
System backups and restoration
Licensing support
Preventive maintenance
Troubleshooting and diagnostics
Identify failed equipment
Recommend repairs and replacements
Coordinate with project representatives
Service Response Expectations
Technicians must be available to support:
Scheduled maintenance (within 3 weeks)
Priority service calls (1–5 business days)
Emergency response (12–24 hours)
Remote support and onsite service will both be required.
Required Experience
Candidates should have experience with:
Physical Access Control Systems (PACS)
Video Surveillance Systems (CCTV/IP Cameras)
Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS)
Electronic door hardware
HID readers and access control devices
Troubleshooting low-voltage security systems
Preventive maintenance
Repair and replacement of security hardware
Reading wiring diagrams and system documentation
Experience with the following platforms is highly preferred:
AMAG / Symmetry
ExacqVision (Johnson Controls)
Preferred Certifications
Strong preference will be given to candidates holding one or more of the following:
AMAG Symmetry Certification
ExacqVision Certification
Certified System Engineer ICAM PACS (CSEIP)
Lenel
Genetec
Software House CCURE
HID Certifications
Equivalent access control or security industry certifications
Qualifications
5+ years of experience with enterprise security systems
Strong troubleshooting skills
Excellent customer communication
Ability to work independently
Valid driver's license
Reliable transportation
Ability to travel throughout Idaho when required
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
Comfortable using ladders and working in secure facilities
