Lead Worker - (Custodial Floor Worker Experience)This position is located in Annapolis, MD. The core working hours are 4:30 am - 1:30 pm, M-F. The hourly wage is $23.85. This position requires that the employee must successfully complete criminal history information background check and drug screening and be able to obtain and maintain a government security clearance. This position may require use of your personal vehicle to transport persons-served. All Melwood transportation policies must be followed. Liability insurance on your personal vehicle must be in full force and effect while transporting for or on the behalf of Melwood. Melwood will reimburse for mileage pursuant to the Travel policy. Under the supervision of the Custodial Foreman, performs those cleaning tasks necessary to meet custodial contract specifications and assists in the monitoring of the custodial crews work. Key responsibilities include: Sweeping and mopping hallways, stairs and offices Emptying waste recycle containers and disposing in prescribed manner Working various shifts with various supervisors according to contract specification Cleaning restrooms, lockers, shower rooms and drinking fountains Brushing and buffing floors with prescribed equipment. Stripping and waxing various floor surfaces Cleaning glass and interior windows Low cleaning walls and other vertical and horizontal surfaces Performing snow removal if required according to the contract specifications Training employees on various tasks Vacuuming carpets, floors and rugs. Shampooing carpets with various types of equipment Driving company vehicle to transport supplies and/or staff Maintaining issued equipment Notifying supervisor when supplies and equipment are needed to perform tasks Supervising and inspecting activities on a daily basis while performing assigned tasks Assuming responsibility of crew during the absence of the foreman Performing all other duties assigned by Custodial Foreman Essential functions include: The Vice President of Human Resources supervises the Corporate/International Recruitment Manager, Staff Training Manager, Compensation & Benefits Manager, Human Resources Administrator and Human Resources Administrative Assistant. The incumbent is supervised by the Custodial Foreman. Physical qualifications include: The incumbent must be able to stand or walk 90% of the work time; and sit 10%. He/she must be able to lift/carry 50 pounds and push/pull 50 pounds in order to clean work areas and handle supplies and equipment. He/she must be able to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach. These requirements are necessary for using ladders and stairs, cleaning low areas, high areas, benches and corners. He/she must be able to communicate with supervisors and coworkers; must good vision, with depth perception and ability to distinguish colors for safety reasons. Qualifications include: High School Diploma or equivalent and one (1) year experience in custodial work required. Valid driver's license is required. Some supervisory experience preferred. Prior experience with individuals with differing abilities preferred. Must be able to pass security clearance.
