And we have the confidence and determination to become the most sought-after adhesive solutions partner.Come join us!The Role:We are seeking a highly motivated Mechanical Engineer who displays strong communication, interpersonal skills, and embraces a growth mindset.This position will lead design projects, ensure product conformity to internal and regulatory standards, support production personnel during new design testing and validation, and assist the Engineering Manager in specialty equipment feasibility reviews.This individual will utilize computer-aided design software to create 2D and 3D models of parts and equipment.This is an on-site role in Brooklyn Center, MN. Only local candidates will be considered.There will be between 30%-40% travel to our Auburn Hills, MI. location during the first year in the role.Key Responsibilities:Lead design efforts of specialty equipment, adhering to customer specificationsCreate surface and solid CAD models to satisfy design requirementsWork with a design team and individually on CAD projectsValidate new designs, ensuring products meet or exceed quality and performance standardsExecute engineering change ordersCreate assembly documentation and user manuals from CAD drawingsParticipate in DFMEA and DFM activitiesConduct root cause analysis on issues identified during production or customer use to improve product performance or durabilityCollect and analyze data on equipment performance using engineering analysis tools and techniquesSupport continuous improvement initiativesReview safety standards and make changes as applicable to ensure compliance with regulationsMaintain knowledge of new and developing industry technology, equipment, and applications; apply this knowledge to recommend product enhancementsWork effectively in a team environmentMust be willing to travel to APPLIED facilitiesPerforms other duties as assignedYou Are Ideal for This Role If You:Are well organized, process and data driven, and have solid analytical skillsWork well as part of a team and individually on projectsAre proactive in naturePhysical Requirements:The ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understandPossess mechanical dexterity to perform equipment operationFrequently moves items weighing up to 35 lbs.The ability to observe details at close range (within a few feet of the observer)Experience and Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field required3-5 years of engineering experience is preferredAdvanced knowledge of CAD and AutoCAD software; SolidWorks preferredExcellent engineering/mechanical aptitudePrior experience with Programmable Logic Controllers preferredKnowledge of electrical and pneumatic control circuits preferredFamiliarity with fluids calculations preferredKnowledge of component design for manufacturability in machining centersExcellent communication and time management skillsWhy Work for Us:Medical, Dental and Vision Benefits401k MatchFlexible and Team-Oriented work environmentGenerous PTO policyTuition ReimbursementEmployee Assistance ProgramCareer and talent development opportunities as well as opportunities for personal growthLeading with Integrity, Collaboration, and PassionIn today's dynamic business landscape, these core values serve as the compass guiding our actions and decisions.
