Platform Software Engineer

DIGIT is looking for a Network Administrator to support the design, implementation, monitoring, management, change management, software upgrades, problem/incident resolution, and root cause analysis of network circuits and devices as part of a large technology refresh initiative.The Network Administrator shall focus on implementation and coordination of wired and wireless network equipment across hundreds of sites across the globe, remotely coordinating the work.The individual will utilize tools to provide predictive heat mapping, onsite surveys utilizing Ekahau, and Cisco Prime Infrastructure.This includes supporting the implementation of Software-Defined Access (SDA) at Regional Office Buildings.Additionally the Network Administrator may be required to perform Level / Tier 2+ Network Architecting and Administration of applicable networks to include Wide Area Network (WAN), Local Area Network (LAN), Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN), and Data Centers assigned by wireless LAN controllers, and integrations into Software Defined Access (SDA) infrastructuresOversee and implement switch provisioning (configuration) and implementation across multiple sites, including coordinating cutover logistics and change managementEstablish network monitoring for newly installed and replaced equipmentSupport and operate Software-Defined Wide Area Networks (SD-WAN) sitesSupport and maintain network equipment and configuration (routers and routing)Utilize and implement network orchestration tools and techniques to facilitate automated and consistent configurations, management, testing, deployment, and operations of physical and virtual devices within the networkManage status, errors, and inbound and outbound traffic statistics of all routing interfaces, bandwidth utilization, and errors of all inbound and outbound LAN/WAN circuitsProvide consulting services to members of the professional staff and to the customer in the analysis and design of data processing systems, management systems, scientific systems, and other related areasMakes technical decisions on kinds of data to be gathered and methods to be used in data collection and analysisProvide technical direction, guidance, and assistance to assigned projects, suggesting efficient approaches and methods for solving problemsDevelop analytical and computational techniques and methodology for problem solutionProvision and configure switches and routersAssist with vulnerability patching and IOS upgradesPrepare and present written and oral reportsAnalyze, diagnose, and recommend solutions to complex problemsEscalate issues to vendor and third-party entities, as necessary and directed by the GovernmentGenerate / update network documentation in coordination with and develop solutions to complex application problems, system administration issues, or network concernsPerform systems management and integration functionsProven ability to work independently in a in nature, requiring originality and innovation in determining how to accomplish tasksPreferred QualificationsCisco Certified Networking Professional (CCNP) or Cisco Certified Networking Associate (CCNA)Proficiency in wireless survey software such as Ekahau, both in actual survey functions and engineering and architecture based on the dataProficient in configuring BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, and static routesFamiliar with SD-WAN architectures such as VMware (VeloCloud)Design network architecture for Software Design Access / Software Defined Networks, utilizing Cisco Catalyst CenterWilling to work a variety of shifts, including holidays as scheduledFamiliarity with Active Directory, Windows, ServiceNow, network monitoring systems (Solarwinds), Cisco Prime, LAN/WAN control protocols, Cisco
