Shop Lead
The Shop Lead serves as an installer lead and assists the Install Manager in various aspects of their role. This role has a strong focus on quality assurance and ensuring quality installs, custom work and customer escalations. Key duties and responsibilities include:
Providing mentorship to other installers on installation best practices and product knowledge.
Assisting the Install Manager with staff training and development, promoting a positive customer experience, loss prevention and safety, operational excellence and team professionalism.
Embodying our company values and personifying the company culture within the install bay, setting an example to follow and holding others to a high ethical standard.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Customer Service
Helps to ensure that installers understand and exceed all customer service standards.
Demonstrates company values and desired behavior in all customer interactions.
Reinforces dress code and professional protocol in the bay.
Ensures that both install and auto salon work is performed up to company standards.
Audits the accurate and timely completion of detail sheets when left in charge of the bay.
Assists the Sales Representatives with customer presentations.
2. Communication
Attend weekly meetings and assist with the timely communication of new initiatives and policies.
Actively participate in weekly store management team meetings on current issues and solutions.
Establish and maintain working relationships with others based on respect and open communication.
Staff Development
When left in charge of the bay, responsible for real-time individual coaching and labor inspections.
As assigned by the Install Manager, participate in growth planning and installer performance reviews.
Act as a mentor to new installers, help them to feel part of the team and ramp up quickly.
Operations
Monitor the installation benches to make sure they are clean and organized at all times and that the bay floor is cleaned regularly throughout the workday.
Check to ensure display boards are functional and in accordance with the current merchandising plan.
Ensure that every install team member maintains their area of responsibility to company standards.
Assists the Install Manager in auditing paperwork/parts log maintenance and inventory control.
Self-Development
As an Install Manager in Training, actively work on a personal career development plan to gain the skills necessary to succeed as a future Install Manager.
Complete all appropriate training and testing opportunities, including MECP 1st Class Certification and Detailing Certification within 6 months of hire.
Maximize on-the-job opportunities to learn new skills and managerial functions.
QUALIFICATIONS
Prior installation experience required, including a high level of car technology product knowledge.
MECP certification preferred, desire and commitment to attaining certification is a must.
Strong focus on the customer, demonstrated customer service skills.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills, high degree of professionalism.
Current valid driver’s license.
Demonstrated adaptability in a changing and challenging environment.
Willingness to uphold company policies and procedures.
