Assistant Controller - Asset Management Firm

We are seeking a dynamic and committed professional to serve as an Accounting Manager. The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated and curious problem solver who embraces change and consistently thinks outside the box. This position will center on our fund accounting as well as related finance and operational functions (tax, middle office, audit support, operational due diligence, compliance, etc.).This person will work as an integral part of our finance and operations team internally and will interact regularly with our many outside partners.Responsibilities will include:Working with the fund administrators on various accounting functions, including cash and account reconciliations, capital calls, distributions, and expensesReviewing financial information (e.g., monthly flash NAVs, quarterly capital statements, fund-level expenses, year-end financial statements)Working with the custodian and prime broker on middle office functions, including trade settlement and collateral / mark-to-market reconciliationInteracting with the investment partners on performance, accounting, and administrative mattersWorking with portfolio companies and third-party valuation providers to support the Valuation Committee proceduresParticipating in the process of producing year-end audited financial statementsParticipating in the process of producing tax estimates, final K-1s and tax returnsPreparing and reviewing LP correspondence and information requestsAssisting in compliance mattersAssisting in operational due diligence processesAd hoc projects to support investment / operations teams Qualifications:Undergraduate degree in accounting or financeCPA licenseMinimum of 5 years of experienceBig 4 accounting firm experience, or a combination of Big 4 accounting firm experience and industry experience at a hedge fund, private fund, or fund-of-fundsHas worked in a SEC compliance environmentSpecific experience with partnership / fund accounting and tax issuesMust be detail-orientedMust have excellent communication and time management skillsA team player with a \"can do\" attitude who is enthusiastic about working in a high-energy, fast-paced, and demanding environment with minimal supervision
