We take pride in delivering high-quality engineering and consulting services while fostering a culture of ownership, accountability, and professional growth.Position Summary:Under the supervision of the Telecommunications Project Resident or Project Manager, the Outside Plant Technician I (OSP I) performs technical field and engineering support work related to the surveying, mapping, staking, and inspection of outside plant (OSP) telecommunications facilities.Key Responsibilities:Inspect contractor work to ensure compliance with project specificationsIdentify and report discrepancies between field work and contract requirementsComplete daily Field Observation Reports and weekly progress reportsTrack materials, quantities, and job-site inventoryRedline construction prints and prepare accurate as-built documentationSubmit fiber-loss reports, schematics, and final project recordsConduct final inspections to ensure project completion and site cleanupLocate and verify existing telecommunications utilities (as needed)Map project areas and stake proposed telecom routes and facility locationsUpdate staking sheets during construction to reflect field changesReview and submit updated documentation for accuracyQualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent required (some college preferred)Valid drivers license requiredAbility to travel to job sites on a weekly basisAbility to pass a substance abuse screeningSelf-motivated with the ability to work independently Skills & Abilities:Strong verbal and written communication skillsHigh attention to detailAbility to work independently and as part of a teamBasic tablet and computer proficiency Physical Requirements:Ability to walk and stand for extended periods on uneven terrainAbility to drive for extended periods throughout the workdayWillingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions Why Join PEC?Employee-owned company (ESOP) share in the success you help createOpportunities for growth and advancementCollaborative and supportive work environmentMeaningful, hands-on field experience in telecommunications infrastructurePI55c848d824b5-26289-40262953
