The ideal candidates should have hands-on experience in Controls EngineeringRequirements of the Controls EngineerBachelor’s in Electrical Engineering or a related field8+ years of controls and/or automation engineering experiencePLC programming and development experience. (Allen-Bradley, Siemens)Strong understanding of robotics systems (Fanuc, ABB, Kuka)HMI developmentWorking knowledge: sufficient familiarity with the subject to know basic principles and terminology and to understand and solve simple problems.Benefits of the Controls EngineerCompetitive salaryAdvancement potentialFull timePaid time offMedical / Dental / Vision401kResponsibilities of the Controls EngineerLead development, integration, and optimization of automated systems within the Slate Production System (SPS).Design, program, and troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, robotics, vision systems, and safety circuits for General Assembly operations.Drive root‑cause analysis and resolution of automation‑related issues originating from the plant, field, or suppliers.Support layout development, equipment selection, tooling integration, and material‑flow automation to improve throughput and reliability.Lead or support continuous improvement initiatives focused on cycle‑time reduction, error‑proofing, uptime improvement, and cost savings.Collaborate closely with Engineering, Quality, Production, and Supply Chain to ensure automation strategies align with product and process requirements.Support New Product Introduction (NPI) by developing automated process flows, control plans, PFMEAs, and workstation logic.Develop and maintain system documentation, including electrical schematics, software standards, and troubleshooting guides.If you are a high performer and would like to work for an equally high performing company and you think the above opportunity is appropriate for you, we invite you to submit your resume in Microsoft Word format to akemp@venteon.com
