Atrium is seeking on behalf of our client a Senior Director of Shared Services based in Alpharetta, GA. A background check may be run only after a conditional offer is made, where permitted by law.Position OverviewThe Senior Director of Shared Services will lead the strategy, operations, and continuous improvement of the Shared Services organization. This role is responsible for driving operational excellence, ensuring compliance, and fostering collaboration across multiple business functions. The position requires strong leadership, process optimization expertise, and the ability to partner with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable solutions. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.ResponsibilitiesLead the strategy and operations of the Shared Services organization, ensuring alignment with business objectivesOversee shared services functions including AP, AR, payroll, T&E, fixed assets, and lease accounting to maintain accuracy and efficiencyEstablish SLAs, KPIs, and governance frameworks to support operational excellence and accountabilityDrive process improvement, automation, and standardization initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce costsServe as a business lead for finance systems and ERP-related processes, ensuring system integrity and optimizationPartner cross-functionally with Finance, HR, IT, and Procurement teams to support organizational goalsEnsure SOX compliance and maintain strong internal controls across all shared services functionsSupport audits, testing, and remediation efforts with internal and external auditors to ensure compliance readinessMonitor operational performance and identify improvement opportunities through data analysis and KPIsLead, mentor, and develop high-performing teams across multiple functions to build organizational capabilitySupport system implementations, integrations, and organizational transition initiatives to enable scalabilityRequired Experience/SkillsBachelor’s degree in Accounting or related fieldProven experience managing shared services functions in a complex organizationStrong knowledge of P2P processes and best practicesHands-on experience with SAP S4Hana ERP systemDemonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive process improvementsStrong understanding of internal controls and SOX compliance requirementsPreferred Experience/SkillsCPA or CMA certification preferredExperience with Concur, Ariba, or other similar platformsBackground in leading automation and digital transformation initiativesStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approachExcellent communication and stakeholder management skillsAbility to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environmentEducation RequirementsBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline requiredAdvanced degree (MBA or equivalent) preferredProfessional certifications such as CPA or CMA are a plusContinuing education in process improvement or shared services leadership desirableFamiliarity with ERP systems and financial technology platformsBenefitsIf eligible under the ACA, medical, dental and vision benefits and time off in accordance with local paid sick time laws will be offered.
