Senior Systems Administrator - Temp
Core one is Seeking a temporary Senior Systems administrator to provide systems administration and technical support for Modeling & Simulation (M&S) and enterprise network environments, including Linux/Windows systems, VMware, and associated hardware/software infrastructure. Responsible for system maintenance, patching, troubleshooting, user administration, infrastructure monitoring, cybersecurity compliance, and integration of new technologies to ensure secure and reliable operation of mission-critical environments. This is a temporary assignment supporting immediate program requirements with an anticipated duration of approximately 4 months.Responsibilities:Provide on-site Linux and Windows system administration, network, and end-user support for the operation and maintenance of Modeling & Simulation (M&S) and other network systems to include hardware, software, and communications interface for the M&S and other various networks.Uses specialized knowledge of operating systems including installation, configuration, maintenance, patching, triage, and hardening. Able to monitor infrastructure and operating system level services.Develops technical solutions to complex problems which require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity.Review, test, and integrate newly acquired hardware, software (to include commercial or government developed software), and firmware.Perform systems administration of Linux systems with Red Hat operating system, Windows client and server, and VMware virtual environment.Perform day-to-day systems administration to include establishing/maintaining/purging users accounts; trouble shooting/auditing the systems/network and taking remedial corrections; performing backups of user and OS files; adherence and implementation of all client and government security/cybersecurity regulations, policies, procedures, guidelines to ensure systems/networks are secure; Research and develop life cycle replacement plan and implement /develop/coordinate systems accreditation with government agencies.Required Qualifications:Active TS/SCI clearance10+ years' experience and Bachelor's degree in related fieldInformation Assurance Technology (IAT) Level II Certification required (to include Baseline Certification, Computing Environment/Operating System Certificate, and Continuous Education), IAW DoD 8570.01-MExtensive Linux/Windows/VMware experience and expertise; broad experience with a variety of legacy and current software and hardware systemsExpertise in systems security testing and hardening, data integration, system documentation, automation scripting, and troubleshootingAbility to work independently on highly sensitive and critical projects and systemsDesired Qualifications:Experience working on a Combatant Command staff or equivalent a plusExperience working with DELL EMC storageExperience working with Microsoft System Center Configuration ManagerExperience working with VMware vCenter server and vSphereKnowledge of Joint Operations a plusExperience with the USCENTCOM AOR a plusMasters Degree in a related field a plus
